Artificial Intelligence
AI is about making machines automate tasks and become smart, so they can make decisions on their own. This means that the machine perceives the environment in which it operates and makes decisions that maximizes its ability to be successful at achieving its goals. This means that it can copy or mimic human cognitive behaviors or functions, such as learning or problem solving. The field of AI includes many sub-disciplines, such as human language understanding, strategic game playing, autonomous robotics, military and other simulations, content network routing, and comprehending and interpreting complex data.

Machine Learning
This gives machines the ability to learn without being explicitly programmed. Machine learning is essentially an exploration and study of the construction of algorithms that absorb knowledge, makes decisions, and take actions based on data. This means that the programs adjust their decision making based on the data it analyzes to make different decision — it is no longer static programmatic instructions that drive the actions. These methods and algorithms are used in a variety of use cases, such as intrusion detection, ranking, solving complex logistics problems, etc.

Natural Language Processing (NLP)
These technologies and methodologies deal with the back and forth between human languages and making them machine understandable. This involves both the understanding and generation of natural language and connecting it with the perception of machines. It is one of the most important and difficult areas of AI since human languages are ambiguous and often have contextual meaning changes. NLP is a central area for research in human computer interactions.

Data Science
This is a collection of methods and processes to glean information and insights from structured or unstructured data. It is generally used to study actual phenomena in nature or human behavior. While many conflate it with computational statistics, it is much broader and deeper in that it involves aspects of the information, psychological and social sciences to enable the interpretation of data and provide context for human decision making. It is considered one of the most powerful tools for modern computer and social sciences.
